‘Apricot Whirl’ Daffodil is a beautiful split-corona daffodil with creamy white petals surrounding a soft apricot-pink, ruffled center. Its unique coloring and delicate, romantic appearance make it a standout in the spring garden and a lovely choice for cut-flower arrangements. Plants typically reach around 14–18 inches tall and return year after year when grown in the right conditions.
-
Planting time: Plant in November through December, once the soil has cooled.
-
Sun: Choose full sun to partial shade, ideally with at least 6 hours of sunlight.
-
Planting depth: Plant bulbs approximately 6 inches deep, with the pointed end facing upward.
-
Spacing: Space bulbs about 4–6 inches apart. Plant in groups for a fuller, more natural-looking spring display.
-
Soil: Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Avoid low areas that stay wet, as daffodil bulbs can rot.
-
Water: Water thoroughly after planting. During the growing season, keep the soil moderately moist but never waterlogged.
-
Bloom time: In the Whiteville area, expect blooms in early to mid-spring, typically March into April, depending on winter temperatures.
-
After blooming: Remove spent flowers, but leave the foliage until it turns yellow and dies back naturally. The leaves replenish the bulb for next year's flowers.
-
Naturalizing: Daffodils can multiply over the years. Once clumps become crowded, they can be divided and replanted in the fall.
Bulbs will be ready beginning of October!
